With the increasing of the movies in HD formats especially in 1080p and 720p there are a few number of HD media players on the market.

I choosed the Western Digital TV HD Media Player and I have been using the WD TH HD Media Player for a few months now.

My first reviews on the WD HD Player is it is compact, easy to use and it is beatiful with its design and colors. One more plus for me was I used to have the MyBook External Hard Disks of Western Digital. And MyBook Hard Disk with WD HD Player is very similar in desing so they are prefect couple for your home use and playing high definition movies like 720 p or 1080 p formats.

Western Digital is releasing firmware updates that can be easily applied so you can follow the latest features form the WD company.

I keep a number of movies in 1080p mkv format and connect the storage external HD to the WD TV HD Media Player through a USB connection, which enables me to play and watch mkv movies on TV without the help of a computer.

And although I sometimes can not play 1080p on my computer, WD Media Player 1080p movie experience is perfect. The WD HD Media Player can support a great list of movie formats but for High Quality movies the mkv format support is great.
